In a cold-war era undisclosed Soviet bloc nation, Nikolai Petrov, 18, is eager to move out of his mother’s apartment and see the world, especially the United States of America. When Nikolai is selected to appear on a popular Soviet television game show, he has a chance to make his dreams come true and win a permanent vacation in America. Nikolai must decide between adventure in the new world and staying in his homeland with his mother. In the end, his decision becomes all the more significant when the game show turns out to be a secret KGB trap. Who Wants To Be An Amerikan is a dark comedy about finding out that sometimes the better place to be is right where you are.
